The highlight of the trip was the concert of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra with Cho Linag Lin as the violin soloist and Eiji Que as the guest conductor. Lin played the Barber Violin concerto with such virtuosic display and richness of tone from his Guaneri Del Gesu violin. It was quite an enjoyable experience listening to world class musicians play. Too bad he did not have a session of autograph signing. Would have loved to take a couple photos with him.

This is a photo of me and my former student William Chong. William is in his 3rd year in the University of Auckland majoring in Music Composition. He is very creative in many of his works. In our recent meeting, he let me listened to his String Quartet on his computer.I I must say that it is good stuff. As a music teacher, I am always glad to hear of my students taking up music as their career.
